MIY Painting on Dishes...using textures

With Mother's Day just around the corner....Dish it up for Mother's Day
Hand painted with care to give with love for Mother's Day. Make it Special, Make it yourself!!!!

Dish it up with Textures:
Don't just paint a dish, texturize it with style!
Dish it up with color and texture to create style and most original chinaware creations: Transform a plain china bowl (or other various items) into a personalized gift. You can create different textured patterns by using assorted paintbrushes or faux-finishing tools with an array of bright, Porcelaine 150 heat-set paints. The specialty paints can be set in your own oven, which makes them dishwasher and oven safe. To top the gift off, fill it with a few of mom's favorite things.

Apricot and mango Spread ... (No Sugar Recipe)

MIY Apricot and Mango Spread... (No Sugar)

People are always asking me why I’m so slim for my age….Hahahah..Well...
Here’s my secret, it's purely simple, I simply don’t eat sweets or junk food.... it's not
because I don’t like them, it's because they don’t agree with my body, so I listen to my body and I don't eat them. Paying attention to what you eat and how they react to your body is all part of a healthier you lifestyle.

I’m the type of cook that likes to cook with a bit of this and that. I keep cooking simple, except for Sunday family dinners. I like to cook with what I call “how did you make that" recipe? When I go to people house’s for dinner or parties, when I like something, I always ask how did you make that? That’s pretty much how I gather most of my recipes, by word of mouth (no need to write them down) and taste of course! As I make it, I usually add something else to it to make it a bit different....then they come to my house and say, hey "How did you make that?"

For those who don’t like or can’t eat sugar like diabetics; Here’s a super easy recipe to
make no sugar added apricot and mango spread. Even if you like sugar this recipe is so
easy you will want to try it, because it taste great. My kids love it (plus they don’t know
there’s no sugar). It’s perfect to make in the spring and winter time when fresh fruits are
not as abundant. It’s so easy you can make this spread almost anywhere anything,
from the cottage to even camping. You really can't go wrong with this super easy recipe.

To see how easy it is to make this spread...have look, visit and let me know what you think!!!!
This is something new that i'm doing on my site, is adding O so easy recipes, with step-by-step photo recipes...

Bon weekend ;)

Teardrops on my Guitar...

Its raining alot today, thought this capture went well with todays weather.... its not a reflection of my mood! ;)

Teardrops on my Guitar by Maddylane

During my spring cleaning I discovered that my guitar was broken. I had it for 20 years. Not sure what happened to it. Looks like the kids where playing with it, but no one is confessing. It then occurred to me that often we neglect the things that we care about because they are always there, until they are not, then we miss them.
Conclusion, to take care of the things you care about to avoid broken guitars!

Outdoor Tuscan Bud Vase Decor by Maddylane

Outdoor Tuscan Bud Vase Decor by Maddylane

Create original outdoor garden decor without spending very much!!!
Here's my secret:
The "as is" or discount section of home furnishing stores is a great place for unique finds that you can transform into something else. The basic cupboard door I used for this project is a good example. I filled the centre panel with granular paste, added small mosaic tiles, applied glaze for an Old World verdigris effect, and then secured a glass vase with wire. It is now an outdoor Tuscan-style bud vase wall hanging.
To view the full article instructions and to view the pictures visit miycreations Garden projects You even have pleanty of time to make one for Mother's Day...Have fun!!!!

Elegant Easter Eggs.... by Maddylane

I just love eggs, they are the ultimate symbol of creativity. My love for eggs began early, for when I was a young girl we had a farm with chickens and horses. My job was to take care of the chickens. Up at 5 am to feed them and to collect the eggs, (that explains why I still like to get up so early, but now its to take pictures. To pick up those just laid warm eggs, everyday was an egg hunt. I’ll never forget that feeling. Today I honor eggs, I even incorporate eggs in my everyday décor. I have a special collection.

I just posted and Elegant Easter Egg project that is so easy to do, it will keep the kids busy in the kitchen while you can take care of all the weekend preparations; Kids are visual, you just have to show them how to do one and they will catch on… I say this from years of making Easter eggs with kids. Enjoy!
